Information Security

Deltanet recognizes that its customers are increasingly concerned about how companies protect personal information from misuse and abuse and about privacy in general. Deltanet constantly reviews and strengthens its technical, physical and managerial processes and rules to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, accidental loss and/or destruction. We use secure socket layer (SSL) technology, for example, to encrypt sensitive information such as your credit card and other financial information.

The facilities that host your information are all protected by trained security personnel and access is only available at multiple levels with valid identification.

Internal Data Protection Procedures

Deltanet’s internet usage policy concerns the actions of employees throughout the Deltanet network. The policy is signed by all staff and not only restricts access to information, but dictates acceptable online communication while on the company network. The following standards enable us to protect the data in our systems:

No messaging software is allowed, with the exception of Jabber on the Deltanet Jabber server.
There are no personal email accounts created on a company profile/computers.
There is no personal email on corporate computers accessed by web-based portals.
No remote connections to external PC-based systems, e.g. ssh, vnc, rdp, telnet.
No mediation of connections with external computer systems.

By using a domain controller system, Deltanet can monitor Internet usage and maintain this usage policy.

Employee Records

All employee records are maintained and updated by our human resources manager. In addition, internal systems allow and encourage staff to make appropriate changes to certain personal data such as home address and telephone number and to view only their personal records.

Assessment, review and training documentation is stored securely in hard copy or on password protected computer systems. These are available to staff on request.

We maintain employee and customer records in accordance with the latest data retention guidelines and destroy information as directed. All prospective staff are background checked and references are checked before employment details are agreed.
